I’m proud to continue the legacy my mom started with her business, “Abacus Accounting & Income Tax Services Ltd.” She provided taxes and bookkeeping services to Prince George and surrounding areas for twelve years.

I started working under my mom as an employee nine years ago, taking numerous courses to become proficient in all the accounting and tax duties that came into our office. Over time, I got to know our clients personally, learning their names, their required duties, and taking on more responsibilities as my mom prepared for retirement.

Four years ago, I officially purchased and took over the business, rebranding it to “Abacus Accounting Services Ltd.” It was a natural progression, as I knew our clients and their needs.

With nearly 30 years of office experience and certifications in bookkeeping and tax preparation, I was ready to step into this role fully.

In January 2024, I lost my mom unexpectedly to a stroke. I’ll always be grateful for everything she taught me about this business and making it successful and for the chance to work alongside her for so many years.

Born and raised in Prince George, I have 2 grown and married children and am still waiting to be a grandma. Also, on the sidelines and putting up with me, and sometimes long hours, is my other half, Dave. Today, it’s just me running the company, and sometimes you’ll be greeted at the door by my four-legged companion.
